- Implemented event sourcing for a number of services in a critical path for the user, allowing for better scaling as well as reducing the dependence on synchronous API calls
- Founded and participated in a working group to streamline company-internal developer tooling by providing a self-updating, cross-platform CLI ?multi-tool? covering many common cases of frequent manual tasks performed developers
- Led an effort to update various wildly outdated frontend dependencies in a monolith prior to a codebase split into more verticalised, team-owned micro front ends

- Proposed and implemented CI improvements to reduce feedback loop from more than an hour to less than 10 minutes
- Ported machine learning algorithms from Python 3 to Rust, and integrated these via WASM and in Flutter
- Led a project to implement a Backstage-based Developer Portal for more than 10k repositories

- Planned and facilitated an inception for a new product / multiple new features, then condensed the result into an architectural vision and prepared technical and user stories
- Adopted TypeScript code generation based on our GraphQL schema, to make frontend-backend interaction more resilient
- Led several efforts to improve developer UX, such as reducing the CI feedback loop by 70%, automate provisioning of servers with Ansible, improving observability in production systems and creating a first-responder Grafana dashboard to quickly pin-point the origin of problems within the infrastructure

- Designed and implemented an internal ?data platform? service, capable of managing Kubernetes-deployed data platforms based on declarative configurations. This included the coordination of data store (Cassandra, MySQL, Hive, etc.) and message queue (Kafka, RabbitMQ) creation and data processing solutions (e.g. Kafka Connect).
- Designed and implemented a high-availability analytics data pipeline solution using Kafka and Akka Streams (Scala).
- Led an initiative to improve insight into deployed systems by consolidating metrics in Prometheus. This enabled the creation of detailed dashboards and alerts as well as basic anomaly detection.
