Leading the platform engineering team and designing, implementing and operating the global container platform using RedHat OpenShift.

• Running OpenShift on-premise to support around 1,5k platform users and approx. 800 projects & applications
• Embedding the container platform into the existing data centre landscape, utilising available services and installation of the cluster in "User Provisioned Infrastructure" (UPI) mode
• ensuring 24/7 availability of the platform and incidence response with on-call duty
• Increasing the bene?t for the platform?s customers by maintaining and moderating an in-house container community and actively contributing to it

• Improving the service quality and customer experience by working with cluster con?guration versioning and con?guration release automation
• Planning and creation of a self-managed AWS Cloud-based OpenShift platform, next to the self-managed on-premise platform
• Introducing Portworx Enterprise for cost ef?ciency and high-performing container storage on-premise and on AWS
• Securing the cluster's network traffic on AWS with Cilium

Defining and aligning the globally binding RHEL strategy as well as implementing the required toolings in close collaboration with the operations teams.

• Offering assistance and consultancy to internal and external customers to find a proper application architecture suiting the requirements and fitting into the existing data centre landscape
• Definition and documentation of the RHEL system configuration standard, considering the CIS and RedHat RHEL security hardening guidelines. Adopting the best practices to the individual environment
• Designing and implementing the required supporting tools in close cooperation with the operations teams
• Iterative review of the solution with customers and surrounding teams 

Providing middleware and data centre infrastructure service handling to surrounding software development teams to create synergy effects and reduce operations overhead for them.

• Design and the implementation of middleware services offered to in-house development teams
• Building the site reliability engineering team from scratch
• Offering operational support and consultancy to software development teams to increase the service quality of mission-critical applications
• Involvement in the redesign and modernisation of the existing system and application landscape
• Design, implementation and maintenance of application deployment automation and close-meshed monitoring for the applications

Designing and implementing a technical helpdesk to create a single point of contact for internal business customers for technical eCommerce platform assistance.

• Designing and implementing operational service procedures
• On-boarding and training of technical support teams in Hamburg (Germany) and Tallinn (Estonia)
• Alignment and creation of operational level agreements for internal customers and providing the foundation for the alignment of service level agreements with external customers
• Implementing close-meshed monitoring using technical and business metrics to identify any impact on the service's quality
• Coordination of project tasks between software development-, data centre infrastructure- and help-desk teams across country borders
• Implementation of fully automated blue-green-deployments for the eCommerce platform's microservices with Ansible
