2019 - 2019: video - based brand

Role: Product Owner, Project Manager, Project Lead

Customer: 20Minuten Group / Tamedia AG, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Transferring the idea of a new way of storytelling (mainly by videos) within 20 Minuten and on social media to a real product from scratch in just a few months.
  • Defining, prioritising and setting milestones for the entire relaunch project.
  • Hiring/acting as the lead for an external development agency to build a new platform for presenting stories in a similar format like Instagram/Snapchat stories, including the technical infrastructure based on cloud technology, plus a CMS where editors can upload their pictures, texts and videos.
  • Responsibility for the entire UX/UI of the relaunch/acting as the lead for the external design agency.
  • Launching a working product on a just-in-time basis.

2019 - 2019: videoportal

Role: Product Owner, Project Manager, Project Lead

Customer: 20Minuten Group / Tamedia AG, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Developing a user frontend for uploading and managing videos from all over Switzerland in 3 languages.
  • Defining the entire project scope including a backend for a team of video cutters in Los Angeles and Berlin, thus allowing them to work instantly with high definition videos to create a movie from all the video files.
  • Creating various dashboards for the news and the sales team.
    Defining, prioritising and setting milestones for the entire relaunch project together with all stakeholders.
  • Hiring/acting as the lead for an external development agency to build a new platform based on Google Cloud technologies.
  • Launching a working product on a just-in-time basis.

2018 - 2019: IT infrastrucure relaunch

Role: Product Owner

Customer: 20Minuten Group / Tamedia AG, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Full responsibility and leadership together with the editor-in-chief for all agency pitching phases, incl. selecting prefered agencies, briefings, defining the scope/goal of the pitch and makeing the final selection of the right agency.
  • Defining, prioritising and setting milestones for the entire relaunch project.
    Setup a new development team including the working infrastructure, in a seperate room for the entire project team.
  • Responsibility for the entire UX/UI of the relaunch / acting as the lead for the external design agency.
  • Setting up new meeting structures for transparent communication with all important stakeholders,
    including the CEO of Tamedia together with an external project lead.

2016 - 2019: Development of the Product Management Unit (including UX, Analytics)

Role: Head of Product, Product Owner

Customer: 20Minuten Group / Tamedia AG, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Starting in a single role as Product Owner at the 20 Minuten Group with product responsibility for the digital development of 20 Minuten plus all subbrands in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Austria.
  • Go-to person for all IT/development questions and tasks.
  • Responsible for various external agencies and partners in areas such as app development, backend and frontend development, UX/UI design, SEO and analytics
  • Purchasing responsibilty for various partnerships and tools at Tamedia (like A/B Testing, AI News Tools, ... i.e.)
  • Developing the entire Product Development department from scratch with a focus on all digital products from the 20 Minuten Group

2016 - 2019: Launching

Role: Project Lead, Project Manager, Product Owner

Customer: 20Minuten Group / Tamedia AG, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • After the aquisition of the Austrian news brand heute.at , the goal was to copy the entire digital
    infrastructure from 20 Minuten over to heute.at too.
  • That includes the CMS technology, apps, mobile (progressive web app) and desktop website including all adaptations for the Austrian market.
  • Project lead for the entire implementation of digital and technical delivery.
  • Defining the backlogs, roadmaps and team capacities for all the teams involved in Zürich.
  • Go-to person for Austria for all technology questions relating to the relaunch of heute.at.
  • SEO implementation for all websites and building customized extensions for the CMS .

05/2015 - 10/2016: Implementation 

Role: Product Management Lead, Product Owner

Customer: Ringier Axel Springer / ex Amiado Group, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

Leadership of the Product Management Team for 3 major websites, including 3 apps (iOS/Android) . The main target group are young millennials and students in Switzerland. The following points were the most important projects:

  • Implementation of a multivariate testing strategy for 3 platforms with Optimizely.
  • Defining new agile/scrum processes in close cooperation with the CTO.
  • Supporting the CEO with the creation of a realistic product vision/roadmap for all web and app products on an annual basis.
  • Migrating all the web portals from PHP to Angular JS, including the first PhoneGap solution for iOS and Android.
  • Creating the initial concept for the first method of digital mobile ticket payment for nightclubs in Switzerland together with one of the biggest payment groups in switzerland.
  • Concept creation for various social media activities/solutions.

02/2015 - 03/2015: Coaching the CEO & Management 

Role: Product  Growht Coach

Customer: Layzapp, Zürich (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Coaching the CEO & Management team to implement a new strategy and a clear product vision for a second-screen TV app on Android and iOS devices. Providing help and support to the CEO regarding the preparation an entirely new concept for a critical last funding round to the main investors.
  • Pointing out new growth channels and various untouched market potentials. Shaping the product focus.

03/2014 - 05/2014: implementation 

Role: Technical Project/Product Manager

Customer: Beautylane / Apareoo AG, Zürich (Switzerland), Düsseldorf (Germany)

Tasks:

  • Setting up a beauty e-commerce startup with integrated community tools, an independent fashion magazine and oflline retail stores.
  • As the Technical Product Manager, responsible for the implementation of the clear product vision set out in detail by the CEO.
  • Working closely and direct with the CEO and acting as the lead for the entire development process for all self build components.
  • Responsible for the execution of all scrum meetings and the entire progress of the project.
  • Reporting directly to the CEO.
  • The shopping technology was based on Oxid and the symfony framework for all customized community features.
  • In total, the development team consisted of 25-30 external developers, architects, database administrators and project mangers, based in Düsseldof.

2013 - 2014: Car sales tool

Role: Product Owner

Customer: ricardo.ch, Zug (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Creating the initial conception and wireframe for a web tool meet all the car sales requirements in terms of adding cars and bikes on autoricardo.ch, as well as on all other key Swiss car marketplaces.
  • The tool had a strong focus on mobile devices. The Swiss Vehicle ID can be scanned using an optimised frontend on a mobile device to shorten the process to add and manage multiple vehicles for car dealers online

2013 - 2013: Redesigning

Role: Project Lead, Product Owner

Customer: ricardo.ch, Zug (Switzerland)

Tasks:

The selling forms on ricardo.ch and autoricardo.ch were mainly based on the same codebase and APIs. Therefore, both platforms needed to redesign the entire selling process from scratch. The initial goals were to speed up the entire selling process for the user, plus create a much better user experience. The following points were key for the successful launch:

  • Implementation of a new company wide A/B testing envirmoment (Optimizely)
  • Synchronisation of all the agile development teams in Ukraine, Switzerland and France
  • Transparent and clear backlog prioritization for both teams
  • Continous user tests for selling form users and all devices

2012 - 2013: Releasing the first native apps

Role: Project Lead, Product Owner

Customer:  ricardo.ch, Zug (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Defining the scope, backlog and requirements for the first autoricarcdo.ch native app in the Android and iOS app stores.
  • Writing the concept for entire userflows/use cases.
  • Creating high-level wireframes, allowing the UX/UI team to create the entire visualisation of the app.
  • The entire backend and API development was mainly based in France, the app development was based in Kiev and the UX/UI team in Switzerland.
  • Clear and transparent synchronisation between all teams was key for the success of this project.

2013 - 2013: Implentation of A/B testing, multivariate testing infrastructure

Role: Project Lead, Product Owner

Customer:  ricardo.ch, Zug (Switzerland)

Tasks:

  • Leading the entire research, selection and purchasing process or the right customer experience
    optimisation software (Optimizely) for the entire Ricardo Group.
  • Designing the implementation of the new testing software in the current development processes, plus a recommendation to all the companies in the group.
  • Creation of a company-wide testing plan, testcases, defining KPI's and final reports .
    Go-to person for questions about Optimizely from all product owners, analysts and developers.
