Career Overview
The main course of my career is the electrical engineering focusing on the railway environment. I have gained extensive technical and railway experience throughout my work career as well as education and research.
My technical experience has been gained mainly in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and Germany working either as an employee or as a contractor. Other countries I have been working at includes: Ireland, France, USA, Peru, Australia, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and others. At the moment I am based in Berlin (Germany) responsible for railway electrical supply system (train feeder stations) globally. My professional skills include:

  • Research, design, development and modification of railway equipment (electrical equipment / installations on traction and rolling stock as well as fixed line-side installation and feeding system for DC and AC railways, static frequency converters);
  • Principal / system engineering for static frequency converters for rail application;
  • Principal / system / engineering for railway AC and / or DC feeder stations (switchgear, transformers, rectifier, LV equipment, battery/ battery charger, UPS, cabling, earthing etc.);
  • Specification of main electrical equipment within el. railway power supply systems;
  • Simulation of traction vehicles and railway supply systems;
  • Maintenance procedures / policy for railway vehicles;
  • Quality control / auditing;
  • Risk assessments based on engineering expertise;
  • Testing / commissioning of traction / electrical equipment;

During my career I have had several career breaks. All of them I spent abroad (USA, South Africa, several countries in Europe) working in all kinds of capacities. During this period I have gained experience in:
