In This Project the goal was to migrate the application and infrastructure Monitoring from BMC BEM and Patrol to the IBM GSMA (Global Standard Management Architecture within IBM) with on top BlueCARE (Blue from IBM Blue and CARE from Common Application Reporting Engine written as and JAVA Enterprise Application that we made in the period at IBM GTS). The Customers involved where Belfius, Dexia in Belgium and RoyalBank of Scotland and BIL Bank in Luxembourgh. For IBM the goal of the whole transition was to save 20 Million of license costs of BMC.

• Analysis of BMC products and influence on the Architectural and technical decisions made on how to migrate.
• Created several complex migration db2 SQL queries for migration of BEM data into BlueCARE Netcool to save time consuming manual configuration.
• Did several java code changes on the BlueCARE portal to enhance the Portal and adjust it to specific customers requests.
• Wrote various db2 SQL queries for reporting purposes to each customer.
• Problem solving on the GSMA implementation all involved applications.
• Created a small Elastic search environment with file beat and log stash for only very critical applications during transition from BMC to GSMA (BlueCARE).
• Used Kibana to visualize specific customer application and OS monitoring data.
• The BlueCARE implementation was never meant to be accessible for the customer directly but only meant for the platform teams. Previously in BEM the customer could modify data into the tools. Currently building an application on top of BlueCARE to give an almost similar exposure.

It will also act as the target platform for further European Data Center centralization. The Private Cloud is ideally suited for the standardization of Data analytics, Channel architecture and the API platform. The ING Private Cloud will also offer Operational excellence by automating the standard infrastructure offering, increasing agility and decreasing complexity and variation. It will enable our speed of change (agility), reducing our time to market and will increase our potential for innovation. And all Finalized in a “self Service Portal” for the customer. Deployment of an dedicated environment within 30 minutes.

• First years on site deployment of the whole GSMA, netcool- BlueCARE software worldwide, now only in remote sessions from Zuid America t/m Japan.
• And L3 support with Development worldwide for Multi customer Application BlueCARE
• Bug-fixes on the BlueCARE j2EE application that lead to code changes
• Worldwide support Complex Application Infrastructure van agents -> IT Hub -> probe -> Object-server -> Impact LDS -> Tivoli Integrated Portal
• Created Power 7 farm for DEV UAT
• Created Vmware v sphere ES-XI farm with hundreds of virtual machines with all OS variations with self

Results:
The initiative was to reduce the costs per SMI (Country / Region with customers such as ABN UWV for BNL as an example) per LPAR or server and too reduce resources from 8 to 1.
