Working in the Service Engineering team, performing regular DBA tasks like:

• redesign and implement the SQL platform monitoring

• capacity planning

• server patching

• installation-configuration

• documenting the SQL platform operation (no documentation existed before)

• AlwaysOn configuration (load balancing of sql servers)

• working with columnstore indexes, temporal tables, extended events, partitioning, etc.

• As member of DBA team I was responsible for 7/24 mission critical, high availability databases and provided on-call service

• Installed and maintained AlwaysOn Databases and Clusters, created monitoring scripts in PowerShell and TSQL, enhanced Backup Strategy (Hitachi CommVault), planned complex Database and Server migration / consolidation projects

• As external consultant I advised the team about optimizing their processes, pointed out the gaps and implemented cost effective and reliable solutions

• I have designed and implemented an automatic inventory / preventive health check / compliance examination solution in Powershell and TSQL for the whole SQL Server farm

• In this small DWH database I have consolidated all operational and configuration data from all SQL instances and made available for direct querying and Reporting (Qlik and Email)

• I was trusted to design and implement the most complex part of the database migration project of Lungenliga Schweiz

• An undocumented legacy Praxis software (Vitodata database, consisting about 10 000 tables, 30 000 fields) had to be migrated into a new ERP system with tight deadlines and collaboration with its vendor

• I was a key person in the project as I took the ownership and technical responsibility of the whole datamigration

• I introduced the agile methodology (to replace the former waterfall model) and coordinated the sprints

• This brought success not only for us developers and business analysts, but for the management too who were dealing with contracts

• I have regularly informed and influenced the stakeholders in order to keep the project on the ideal track

• I have assisted the business analysts in formulating the requirements, keeping in mind the optimal technical feasibility

• The technical tasks involved reverse engineering of the old software, design the DWH database (3NF and ROLAP), design ETL in a data-driven way, data analysis, consolidation (all cantonal data into one), transformations in TSQL (such as merging data with complex business logic or audited manual and automatic data cleansing)

• Implementing reports in SSRS and interviewing new SQL Server developers were also part of my job

• A very interesting and challenging project to migrate, consolidate and virtualize the bank?s MSSQL servers and databases from version 2008 and 2012 to 2016

• Working as 3rd level supporter of a global reporting platform and DWH Databases (Oracle and SQL Server) in a very complex environment involving international teams with remote locations

• Duties: database related troubleshooting, query optimization, job and log monitoring, configuration and release management (including process management), establish documentation standards and improving the operation team?s service quality, bug fixes in ETL (SSIS and TSQL) and Cube generation processes

• After this project I have taken the highest MS SQL certification: Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) on Data Platform (for version 2014 and 2016)

Working in the private bank division?s IT department as responsible MSSQL database architect for a strategically important intranet application?s backend system of the bank (called Product Buffet) which was daily used by 9000 advisors/relationship managers worldwide for their investment proposal process. My activities: develop and maintain stored procedures containing highly complex business logic, integrating and monitoring data interfaces, creating maintenance scripts, migrate databases and configure servers, resolve performance and deadlock issues, migrate DTS packages into SSIS jobs, create reports in SSRS, support business users by writing adhoc queries, create system usage statistics, implement database version control and change management process, manage disaster recovery process, reverse engineering undocumented subsystems, train new colleagues, conduct technical job interviews, ensure data quality, test automatisation.Our team was working with the Agile / Scrum methodology. During this 4 years I?ve gained in depth business knowledge of financial products, e.g. how the derivatives, funds, equities, indexes work and the different data models and connecting data interfaces, such as portfolio management system.

• As onsite coordinator I followed up and coordinated the development with the offshore team and prioritized the tasks and also planned and ensured the smooth production releases, by utilizing configuration management and version control tools (CVS, Jira, other in-house developed applications)

• From technical aspect, mainly I was in charge of supporting production asset management databases in SQL server 2005 and Oracle 10g and I was doing performance tuning, complex sproc and view enhancing

• PL/SQL coding (TOAD 8), SQL Server lock and performance troubleshooting, working closely with the internal DBA team

• I implemented simple data loading and transformations in Powercenter 7 as well

• Programming data load service applications written in VB.NET and developing new reports in ASP.NET with Sybase backend

• I created a custom CMS web portal using classic ASP with MS SQL 2005 back end for a financial provider with modules such user administration, client management, content editor, document management using Indexing Services, forum, chat, calendar, project-tracking, etc.

• Implementing a custom CRM system

• The application has more than 100 forms and 100 tables, over 28000 lines of well thought code in Visual Basic 6 and MSSQL 2000, plenty of stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers and views on the database side. Relying on Word, Outlook integration through Office VBA macros enables the users to create their custom report forms, merge mail documents and queries with the built-in query editor

• I have worked as consultant at an ERP system vendor where my task was to customize the product for the customer?s need based on the onsite interviews I conducted

• I took part in improving the database technical design in SQL Server 2000 I?ve got good understanding of the ERP systems especially at stock/inventory handling, shipping, invoicing, accounting modules

• Ensuring the continuous work of 50 PC and 3 servers. Tasks included: installing servers (web and FTP server, configuring network printers, file replication, Windows 2003 Active Directory, DHCP, Oracle 8i, MS SQL 2000 basic DBA tasks)

• I implemented a barcode technology based guest access control system for the Kecskemet's aqua and waterslide park

• Visitors wear arm-bands what they show to barcode scanner to open the lock of turnstile

• Ticket data is stored in SQL server 2000, front end is coded in VB6

• I designed the system, selected the proper instruments (led display, locks and computers), programmed the application, took part even in the hardware assembly work and trained the employees (cashiers, supervisors)
