Assigned to plan and prepare the first go-live and subsequent releases, of a new CRM system based on PEGA. Some of the responsibilities included coordination and planning of deployments to UAT and PROD environments, creation of deployment plans, allocation of deployment resources, identification of risks, submission of release and change records and facilitation of lessons learned.

Was hired to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the Release & Deployment Management project. The goal of the project was to improve the existing process, and to align it to more agile ways of working. Tasks included improving the governance setup, role descriptions, policies and process activities.

As an independent contractor, my responsibilities were the following:

• Ensure that systems are safely and efficiently transitioned from projects into operations by planning and assessing the Operational Readiness in terms of system documentation, support and training, Early Life Support, roles and responsibilities, test signoffs, SLAs and Disaster Recovery.

• Improve, document and communicate the Service Transition process and to align it with other dependant process areas such as Test Management, Change Management and Release & Deployment Management.

• Define and create test cases for Operational Acceptance Testing.

• Create or update templates for Technical Design Specifications, Operational Handbooks and SOPs.

• Provide skilled advice on technical writing and the appropriate type of documentation, information architecture and document control needed.

• Support in defining deliverables in the Project Management framework, based on PPS.

• Gather requirements from Product Owners, Engineers and Sales Engineers for a new product leaflet

• Create the new product leaflet template for airport LED lights by structuring and designing the layout

• Implement the template for a specific LED light by writing the technical information and displaying the proper images

Five years of Java development. Worked with requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and deployment in all projects. Actively took part in both client and server side programming in standard client-server applications and web applications. Administered, supported and deployed applications on a Websphere and DB2 platform. Was involved in a project to develop new software development standards for the entire software development life cycle. It is nowadays the blueprint for all software development at UC. The project was based on RUP. Was also appointed Software Configuration Manager.

Highlights of achievements as SCM:

• Managed and directed a team of 14 developers for SCM activities

• Wrote the Software Configuration Management plan which today serves as a guideline for all developers

• Planned and supervised the change of versioning software from VSS to CVS

• Worked closely with Project Managers and Methodologists to improve deployment and release processes.
