As an ITAO(IT Aplication Owner)-Delegate ? i.e. technical application owner ?, I was responsible for all matters related to an electronic messaging environment called MQ Gateway that consisted of the Websphere MQ application running on a AIX clustered environment. I also took on the responsibility for all AIX related matters in the EMEA region. Besides Business as Usual (Tickets and Changes), activities also includes some long and short term projects: 

  • L3 support to L2 colleagues on various topics for the AIX, Solaris, and Linux platforms 
  • Solaris migrations: migrating, consolidating and modernizing the Solaris estate NIS to LDAP migration: created/tested/implemented a solution to migrate the AIX landscape from 
  • NIS to LDAP/AD
  • DR Manager: coordinating and executing 4 yearly DR exercises for the UNIX/Linux team
  • FDW: supporting development from the Unix/Linux perspective of this environment
  • Kannon: supporting development of a Low Latency environment from an infra perspective
  • Patching of the Unix estate: participated in the patching of AIX/Solaris/Linux servers
