• From scratch recommended processor, IDE, and defined system architecture (HW), made schematics and layout cad. Adapted to PCB manufacturer's processes.
• Worked in tight cooperation with mechanics engineers in order to create a slim mechanics design, fitting PCB within limits.
• Defined all self tests (and wrote some of them) for PCA verification and final tests (production related). Implemented self test facilities on board.
• Handled all EN(CE) and FCC requirements and testing. Solved OTA issues.

Tasks:

Senior staff engineer (HW), design leader, responsible for HW (schematics & CAD) current consumption, EMC etc.

• Design Leader in four different projects. Have actively been taking part in six phone projects and as a requested resource in task forces in additional projects.
• A phone can be described as a PC with a wireless modem, a keyboard and a screen. The baseband part corresponds to the PC ? controlling and driving the sound paths, back lights, accessories, charging etc. The baseband interfaces the display, the wireless modem and the system connector.
• As a design leader I conduct the baseband development, coordinated with the Access team (wireless modem), the Imaging team (display), the Acoustics team (sound paths and audio quality) and the Mechanics team (effects ESD and some sensors such as ambient light and proximity). The design leader could correspond to the project leader in many companies.
• For periods I have been very actively working with various EMC problems (EMI, EMS/ESD) which I find rewarding as it often involves some deeper analysis.
