Tasks were to coordinate the mapping documents, the build stage of ETL tooling (BODS) and load tooling (DMC).   • During the Mock 0 and Mock 1 stage of the project, the data loads of around 35 objects was delivered successfully and on time. A successful handover to the Cutover team was established to jointly handle the remaining Mock loads until go live.

  • Global template development and rollout from legacy landscape to S/4 HANA (1909 release). My role is about leading a team of 7 data consultants to deliver the ca. 150 SAP data migration objects in a new S/4 HANA system. We reached a successful go live in Jan 2020 and in March 2022 for several factories.
  • I joined in October 2019 to bring the stalled data migration back on track. This was achieved by implementing a ?Back On Track? plan focused on clear tasks, an improved methodology and adding data quality rules in the upgraded tooling. The data (mainly focused on Business Partners) was delivered successfully in a Dress Rehearsal Load and then a Production Load. The loaded data was validated by the business in a Data Validation Test, by using test cases in Solution Manager.
  • For the second template for a Factory, focused on production and logistics, I have the following responsibilities:
    • Day to day migration project planning and oversight of data team, managing resources, capacity and risks.
    • Creating a migration concept to control the data migration scope, process and governance.
    • Managing the data migration deliverables such as Object Control Panel, FMD workshops and the Mock preparations.
    • Extracting the data (BaaN, Windchill) by building automated data extracts in Oracle.
    • Building a data factory team around the Data Services team to perform Mock loads and build the DS Jobs. This was achieved in the 4.2 SP13 version.
    • Data Testing, producing the (pre load) Firewall Reports and Post Validation Reports to manage data quality and support the data validations. Intense focus on Data Rules, Data Testing and Data Quality.
    • Working with the business to cleanse, transform and deliver the data in the source systems for SAP modules Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Production, Logistics and EWM (stock). This is done in a series of Mock data loads.
    • Data validation using Solution Manager test scripts and defect / change management.
    • Reporting to the PM and Deployment lead on a regular basis, including escalations and issues.
    • Successful golive in Jan 2022, data migration on time and in budget.
    • Next rollouts go live planned Jan 2024 and July 2025.

  • The BPR programme is a multiyear SAP template rollout including data harmonization and improvement. As data migration manager I was responsible for a team of 14 FTE of data migration experts and programmers. The programme was a rollout of several releases in simultaneously running SAP projects. 
  • The overall scope contained about 30 countries on all continents, organized in 12 different projects. SAP scope included ECC data objects in FIN, OTC, PTP, SCM, QUA, PM, MNF modules, plus MDG finance objects. Both greenfield and uplift (brownfield) countries, including merges of companies and changes in logistical enterprise structure. 
  • My task was to implement a migration governance and planning structure, to build the team and get the migration process going to deliver the data. We delivered 4 projects on time and budget, and put a structure in place for the remaining projects. The role involved a lot of international travel to locations in Tokyo, Chicago, Sao Paolo, Almaty, Israel and various European countries.


Type of role:

Data migration governance, team lead, delivery of migrations, project planning, delivery of migrations. One of the key features was the typical Pharma GxP environment with full data verification using HPALM test cases.

  • As TMT project manager, I delivered a migration test and knowledge transfer of Customer Master, Equipment Master Vendor Master and Material Master load programs. A set of workshops, a data load test and documentation of the results in runbooks were the main deliverables of the TMT project. The project was delivered on budget and in time. As part of this project, I coordinated 2 MDM consultants, 3 business data consultants and 5 functional consultants for a period of 6 weeks (part time roles). 
  • In addition, I trained one MDM resource in building and using Lsmw load programs.

Tango project

  • The Tango project involved splitting off Arjo (extended care systems producer) from the Getinge mother company. Arjo became an independent stock market listed company in December 2017. As part of this project the Getinge SAP landscape was cloned to a new Arjo system, using a HANA database. The clone needs to be tested, stabilized and various changes implemented. Important part of the Tango project is an extensive knowledge transfer program which I managed for MDM. 
  • In addition, my task is to ramp on the existing migration programs, and embed these in a stable ETL platform for future BU roll ins. I also worked on different cleansing initiatives for objects like Material Master and Customer Master.
  • The SAP roll in programme was unexpectedly cancelled by the board of directors in January 2018, thereby effectively ending this role.

Profile

  • I am an experienced SAP data (migration) lead and architect, lead data consultant and functional data expert. I have worked on SAP implementations as a data consultant for the past 20 years and have led data migrations for the last 15 years. My main skills are leading teams, and planning, designing and delivering of data migration projects in the context of an overall SAP programme. In addition, I have a lot of experience with topics such as data cleansing, data management, data governance, dual maintenance and cutover plans involving master and transactional data. I have deep knowledge of the basic SAP concepts, functional modules and especially the structure of SAP data objects. I have led teams of experts and have managed data projects. I also have extensive hands-on experience doing data migration, for instance using DMC/LTMC and Lsmw. Another skill I have is the production of various types of documentation, such as project plans, cutover plans, migration strategy, cleansing approach and functional design and mapping documents.
  • My speciality is to bring structure and leadership into the S/4 data migration. My focus is on steering (or building) the team, setting up good governance, defining a clear plan and deliverables and then executing these towards migration success.
  • My project management approach to data projects is to build an effective migration team, to design an efficient data/migration process, and to provide and a clear approach and planning (governance). One success factor in data projects and migrations is to run it as a project with clear deliverables and quality gates, and work goal oriented. To achieve this, I have adopted various best practices such as PRINCE2, and incorporated these in a framework approach. For instance, for migration this framework is based on the ETL paradigm (Extract, Transform, Load), and involves all required migration aspects such as object list, design documents, mapping, quality rules, cleansing, data collection, load tool build, capacity planning, load planning, pre- and post-validation and business sign off.
  • I work effectively with data stakeholders, such as stream leads, business data experts, functional consultants, data managers, data owners and project managers. My strength is this area is a focus on data delivery, while identifying and mitigating project risks.   • The BPR programme is a multiyear SAP template rollout including data harmonization and improvement. As data migration manager I was responsible for a team of 14 FTE of data migration experts and programmers. The programme was a rollout of several releases in simultaneously running SAP projects. 
  • The overall scope contained about 30 countries on all continents, organized in 12 different projects. SAP scope included ECC data objects in FIN, OTC, PTP, SCM, QUA, PM, MNF modules, plus MDG finance objects. Both greenfield and uplift (brownfield) countries, including merges of companies and changes in logistical enterprise structure. 
  • My task was to implement a migration governance and planning structure, to build the team and get the migration process going to deliver the data. We delivered 4 projects on time and budget, and put a structure in place for the remaining projects. The role involved a lot of international travel to locations in Tokyo, Chicago, Sao Paolo, Almaty, Israel and various European countries.


Type of role:

Data migration governance, team lead, delivery of migrations, project planning, delivery of migrations. One of the key features was the typical Pharma GxP environment with full data verification using HPALM test cases.

  • As TMT project manager, I delivered a migration test and knowledge transfer of Customer Master, Equipment Master Vendor Master and Material Master load programs. A set of workshops, a data load test and documentation of the results in runbooks were the main deliverables of the TMT project. The project was delivered on budget and in time. As part of this project, I coordinated 2 MDM consultants, 3 business data consultants and 5 functional consultants for a period of 6 weeks (part time roles). 
  • In addition, I trained one MDM resource in building and using Lsmw load programs.

Coordination as well as hands on (Lsmw testing and data loads for Materials, Customers, Vendors, Equipment. In addition, I built new Lsmw?s and improved existing ones using ABAP code.)

Tango project

  • The Tango project involved splitting off Arjo (extended care systems producer) from the Getinge mother company. Arjo became an independent stock market listed company in December 2017. As part of this project the Getinge SAP landscape was cloned to a new Arjo system, using a HANA database. The clone needs to be tested, stabilized and various changes implemented. Important part of the Tango project is an extensive knowledge transfer program which I managed for MDM. 
  • In addition, my task is to ramp on the existing migration programs, and embed these in a stable ETL platform for future BU roll ins. I also worked on different cleansing initiatives for objects like Material Master and Customer Master.
  • The SAP roll in programme was unexpectedly cancelled by the board of directors in January 2018, thereby effectively ending this role.

Profile

  • I am an experienced SAP data (migration) lead and architect, lead data consultant and functional data expert. I have worked on SAP implementations as a data consultant for the past 20 years and have led data migrations for the last 15 years. My main skills are leading teams, and planning, designing and delivering of data migration projects in the context of an overall SAP programme. In addition, I have a lot of experience with topics such as data cleansing, data management, data governance, dual maintenance and cutover plans involving master and transactional data. I have deep knowledge of the basic SAP concepts, functional modules and especially the structure of SAP data objects. I have led teams of experts and have managed data projects. I also have extensive hands-on experience doing data migration, for instance using DMC/LTMC and Lsmw. Another skill I have is the production of various types of documentation, such as project plans, cutover plans, migration strategy, cleansing approach and functional design and mapping documents.
  • My speciality is to bring structure and leadership into the S/4 data migration. My focus is on steering (or building) the team, setting up good governance, defining a clear plan and deliverables and then executing these towards migration success.
  • My project management approach to data projects is to build an effective migration team, to design an efficient data/migration process, and to provide and a clear approach and planning (governance). One success factor in data projects and migrations is to run it as a project with clear deliverables and quality gates, and work goal oriented. To achieve this, I have adopted various best practices such as PRINCE2, and incorporated these in a framework approach. For instance, for migration this framework is based on the ETL paradigm (Extract, Transform, Load), and involves all required migration aspects such as object list, design documents, mapping, quality rules, cleansing, data collection, load tool build, capacity planning, load planning, pre- and post-validation and business sign off.
  • I work effectively with data stakeholders, such as stream leads, business data experts, functional consultants, data managers, data owners and project managers. My strength is this area is a focus on data delivery, while identifying and mitigating project risks. I am a confident and mature professional, and able to get buy in from these partners through excellent presentation skills.
  • My SAP knowledge is wide across the SAP landscape, for both functional and master data areas. Module knowledge includes the FICO, MM, PM, SD, PP, LES, QM, PS and S&OP modules. I have extensive exposure to SAP HANA and MDG. On the business side, I thoroughly understand the business processes in the FTM, OTC-D, OTC-S, MTD-M, MTD-P/S, PTP, EWM, S&OP steams.
