Interim CTO; Head of software development, Java engineering manager (contract)

Tasks:

As the first employee with tech leadership experience:

  • scaled and lead IT department from 1 to 25 people in 2 years until CTO was hired
  • was responsible for technology selection and adoption
  • later on worked side by side with CTO
  • was CTO deputy

As the one who was driving company software architecture:

  • migration to AWS cloud
  • re-writing critical project parts in Java
  • breaking monolith to microservice architecture
  • was an early adopter and the one who introduced React JavaScript library in company

As a Java team engineering manager worked hands-on with:

  • split monolith into microservices on Netflix stack
  • introduced Kubetnetes & Helm powered by EKS control plane
  • Spring 4 and 5, Spring Boot 1 and 2
  • jHipster and custom yeoman generators
  • MongoDB
  • Swagger API first
  • React, Redux, Typescript on frontend
