2016 - today: Architecture and strategy for an AI-powered automated traceability system


Role: Software Architect / Technical Lead / Senior Developer

Customer: Mercedes-Benz Cars AG


Tasks:

  • Built the Android application foundation from the ground up, giving teams a standardized, testable, and ASPICE-aware starting point for new development.
  • Established a standardized onboarding setup that supported around 80 applications in about 8 months, primarily for new applications with additional migration support for existing ones.
  • Designed the architecture and strategy for an AI-powered automated traceability system to improve alignment between development workflows, compliance expectations, and delivery processes.
  • Built a development toolkit for application teams, including workflow automation, reusable testing support, and shared engineering practices that reduced manual effort and improved consistency.
  • Developed an LLM-based tooling and process for generating scaffolding from design artifacts into Jetpack Compose / Kotlin code, helping reduce boilerplate and accelerate UI development. Jetpack Compose is Kotlin-based, which makes this framing technically sound.
  • Extended the testing framework with AI-assisted visual regression and test-case generation to strengthen validation workflows and reduce repetitive test authoring.
  • Built a verticalized end-to-end testing strategy that enabled reusable test contributions from merge request stage through system validation across apps and platform components.
  • Served as a key technical reference point for architecture decisions affecting build, test, and release infrastructure, and defined standards for app signing, service development, and custom build processes.
