Delivered the first nationwide wind atlas for Angola, backed by an innovative cloud computing framework on AWS.

Leveraged on AWS recently introduced compute cluster instances to produce a highly optimized simulation framework, achieving:
- 90% savings on data volume, performing on-cloud data processing for numerical simulation output (WRF model), using Fortran and C
- Massive scalability to 1728 compute cores across dozens of parallel instances, natively integrated with AWS's SDK for Python
- Integrated life-cycle management, enabling continuous use of spot instances and optimizing runtime costs

In addition, enabled the company to use the developed simulation framework on-prem, including hosting a 40h training course on atmospheric numerical modeling.

Helped implement a transnational data sharing platform, delivering near real-time atmospheric data and enabling participants to use advanced analytics tools through training.

The project was possible by a collaboration with the Hydrography Directory, Brazilian Navy, and involved:

- Implementation and expansion of a data-distribution network between universities and research institutions (IDD-Brasil), in collaboration with partners in the USA (Unidata/UCAR), Brazil (Navy, INPE) and Portugal (UA)
- Development, planning and lecture of workshops and outreach events to key scientists and
researches in South America on Scientific Development for Atmospheric Sciences.

Built from the ground-up a novel Wind Mapping product, enabling an accurate representation of the wind resource for any location on Earth.

Enabled the company to expand into new market segments, with a heavy focus on innovation, being responsible for:

- Planning, deployment and management of HPC cluster for numerical modeling
- Implementation and development of HPC framework for numerical modelling (using Perl, Python, NCL, Bash)
- Development of a framework for web-based data discovery (using Python, MongoDB, open-source data distribution applications)
