Following my dream of creating moving images, I began my career with an apprenticeship as a photographer. After graduating, I worked in digital print finishing and data preparation, using, among other things, the early versions of Photoshop and QuarkXPress.
A few years later, while continuing to work as a photographer, I launched my own business specializing in expo construction and large-scale digital printing. During this time, my professional photography?especially my work in black-and-white photography?gained international recognition.
To further expand my expertise, I accepted a position as a Digital Photography Expert in training and development at the world-renowned Leica Camera Academy. Over more than four years, I became one of their top representatives and product testers on an international scale.
When Leica encountered economic challenges, I turned to my true passion?moving images?and co-founded 3D Maximal in Germany with Hannah Dewies.
In 2007 and 2008, we developed, designed, and animated the visual content for the RED BULL AIR-RACE for the worldwide OnAir Show, winning international awards for our work.
Soon after, we received our first inquiries from Hollywood, which led to the establishment of a branch of our company in Vancouver, Canada.
In the following years, we worked on several international blockbuster films?primarily as subcontractors?where I served as VFX Supervisor, Head of Production, and CG Supervisor.
Today, I hold the positions of Art Director and Technical Lead for 3D and Compositing. With over 17 years of experience in 3D animation and compositing, I am among the few veterans in this industry.
