The existing BW should been replaced in a green field approach, following LSA. The core of this EDW is the central KPI library and each KPI is systemwide unique. Even the most common report is month-bases, to provide accurate data the smallest common ground has to day. Furthermore the start date and end date of a contract can be at every day in a month. It makes a profit calculation harder and benefits from this detailed daily split.
