Furthermore, steps were taken to ensure that the business units agreed on a common language?for instance, regarding the exact nature of a specific data element and who is responsible for it. This now serves as the starting point for further plans regarding master data governance.
Previously, I led an SAP system decommissioning project that entailed a risk of over ?2 million and involved unresolved responsibilities regarding data migration; I established clear governance structures for retention, archiving, accountability, and compliance, and completed the project on schedule. Moreover, this was not the first time I had manually cleaned up disorganized datasets: years earlier, while at Cognizant, I had automated a manual data validation process for a UK retail client, increasing efficiency by 67%.
