• Byrd provide a Fulfilment Service for online ecommerce providers. Connecting with Shopify and Amazon stores amongst others to handle logistics and delivery for their customers.
• As well as continuing my role in the SRE function, I am also leading a small product team of 5 engineers to plan and deliver new features and bug fixes. This is the first time a non-developer has taken up the role within the company.

• Maintain a monitoring as code approach to Observability using Prometheus, Open Telemetry and Grafana.

1. Adecco are a worldwide recruitment and HR services provider. The Berlin Technology centre was setup to digitalise and modernise core business areas and drive the business objective of globalising their operations.
2. Continuation of previous Lead & Engineering roles at Adecco with a focus on developing the SRE function within the wider Cloud strategic teams and the individuals within it. 

• Led for a team of 9 Engineers, trying to build up a systematic approach to delivering Adecco?s Digital Applications and moving away from doing the same thing 9 times slightly differently
• Provided technical leadership and still hands on in all the areas listed in the previous role

• Plan toolset for migrating applications from on premise to Azure. Using a mix of lift and shift (with Azure migrate / DMS into IaaS) and rearchitecting using mix of Azure services (App Services, Azure SQL to name a few). Support DBA's and Developers during the migration effort
• Support cloud operations teams with support tickets. This could involve anything from a wide range of services: Function apps, PowerBi, Azure Dev Ops and SQL
• Deploy new infrastructure with a repeatable mindset using ARM templates, Automation runbooks and webhooks
• I also created scripts that would output standard configuration documents to avoid having to copy & paste info into word documents

Novia are in the Wealth Management sector and provide a platform for Financial Advisors to trade and manage their client base

• Implemented Azure PaaS components (Azure SQL, App Services, Service Bus, Key Vault), Atlas Cloud (MongoDB) as well as traditional private cloud servers. Automated using Infrastructure as code (IAC) and delivered through Azure DevOps CICD.
• Worked with the Development team and third parties to design the new Production web platform
• Designed a new Document Management system using hybrid cloud infrastructure to handle an extra 8TB?s worth of documents over the next 3 years

Alamy are a stock photo library hosting over 95 million images

• Improved performance and reliability of logs ingestion into SEO provider via PowerShell scripts
• Increased the ability to transfer/replicate thousands of image files quickly from one site to another
• Implemented Elastic Stack to collect syslog, windows security logs and IIS logs for analyses using Beats, Logstash, and Elasticsearch

• Care NZ are a charity based in New Zealand and provide services to support alcohol & drug addicts.
• I was tasked with implementing a small scale low cost SSO solution for Office365 that involved the design & implementation of ADFS 3.0 and AADConnect. This also included full build and support documentation so it could be handed over to their support team.

This contract was for initial 6 weeks but was extended on multiple occasions. I was responsible for implementing projects within the following areas

• ADFS 3.0 (Across AWS and managed service platforms)
• Custom IE11 Package (Scripted via Powershell & Delivered with SCCM/Software Centre)
• Pilot to Migrate Proxy solution from TMG to Zscaler

  • The contract involved working with various third party providers, creating implementation plans, providing low level configuration documentation and providing handovers to BAU support teams. There was also some Office365 administration.
