2005 ?today: Activities involve process definition and technical authoring/writing
Role: Self Employed Consultant
Tasks:
Working as a consultant for various first and second tier aviation and aerospace companies including RollsRoyce, eVTOL start-ups, MTU Aero Engines, Kale and many more. Activities involve process definition and technical authoring/writing, reviewing and improvement of company proprietary and sensitive corporate, engineering and quality control documentation across various departments. Additionally familiar with working within agile frameworks and methodologies.
Process definition consisting of creating internal and global processes for EASA Part 21 approvals, maintaining Part 21J and G approvals, and updating existing processes and documentation in line with EASA airworthiness requirement updates or technological advances within the industry. Working at different levels within the process definition from the high level whole global corporate and engineering documentation down to procedures/processes and guidelines for individual skill/engineering/quality/certification groups. Ensuring the various individual processes are clearly understandable and verifiable, correctly inter-link, and in whole satisfy a company?s Part 21 requirements.
Writing and creating individual processes, procedural documentation, corporate expositions, policies and manuals based upon specialist inputs. Reviewing and controlling the updating, review and balloting of the documentation with the various stakeholders. Finding compromises to meet conflicting technical requirements while satisfying airworthiness/company requirements and optimising work flow. Final creation, publication and support in the updating and implementation of associated corporate and engineering documentation including forms and templates (e.g. design organisation handbooks, flight test training material, web-based integrated management system processes, global DDR, DDIS, manufacturing specialist buy-off procedures, corporate expositions and policies etc.). Defining the cross-level procedures and documentational requirements required for technical review, system, component design gates. Assisting an eVTOL start-up company in setting-up, structuring and defining their new web-based visual document management system and documentation hierarchy within their web-based integrated management system.
Technical authoring and updating engine and maintenance manuals for newly certified and in-service products. Documenting new repair processes, updating existing processes within global engineering manuals (e.g. chemical and mechanical processes and special processes), rewriting company documentation and manuals into ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English. Taking the technical inputs from the specialist groups and translating these into task descriptions/procedures/checks which can be easily understood and followed by the users, from shop floor, line maintenance mechanics through to engineering department heads.
Translation of processes and manuals from German into English and ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English and vice-versa.
