• Following an eclectic career in my earlier life, I am completely at home in IT and have developed a particular interest and skill in business intelligence. This stems from my experience in data warehousing, gained primarily with ING. It was here (and at the data warehouse section of Postbank) that I benefitted from working with excellent database specialists
• I maintain high standards. An important personal driver for me is the delivery of excellent work. That said, I remain conscious of the larger picture; including the project plan and its associated milestones. Colleagues praise my analytical and good communication skills, both in inter-team working and in contact with clients
• Recently I was occupied with data management for scientists at NIOZ Royal Dutch Institute for Sea Research and the Academic Medical Centre. It was interesting to contribute with my knowledge of internet and data warehousing to discussions in a relatively young discipline. The enthusiasm of scientists appeals to me, working with them was often a challenge, but developing practical solutions to make their work easier also gave me satisfaction
• Recent data management projects saw me working alongside scientists at NIOZ Royal Dutch Institute for Sea Research and the Academic Medical Centre. The enthusiasm of scientists was quite infectious, and they enjoyed and respected my contributions in this relatively young discipline, based on my knowledge of the internet and data warehousing. Together we developed practical solutions that made the work of the scientists easier. This gave me a great sense of satisfaction
• I would like to contribute to designing and building data warehouses from a business intelligence perspective. Beyond the realms of programming I have particular strengths in gathering and analyzing business requirements. Consulting with clients regarding their information needs ? and designing technical solutions for these ? is something I am particularly good at
