• I did OS certifications for several new servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, VMware).

• Solved several criticalities working with companies not well organized and prioritized workload to keep the schedule
• The Project Manager role fit quite naturally in my technical and economic background.

2011 - 2012: TDD/CI development

Tasks:

• Formed a SW development team of about 20 persons in Shanghai ? China with the purpose was to have qualified staff trained in real-time DSP SW development.
• Managed to integrate the team in a multicultural workplace.
• I deployed the best SW programming practices TDD/CI development, Robot test cases and Jenkins frameworks to run them.

2000 - 2011: Digital signal processing (DSP)

Tasks:

• Led a team of about 30-40 persons to develop HW and SW to implement the 2G and 3G data plane.
• I worked on the GSM Base station controller and on the speech transcoder unit.
• An additional area of responsibility was the Media Gateway equipment with the development of customized HW blades and of Digital signal processing (DSP) application SW.
• Strict effort allocation of critical resources on several projects running in parallel.

1988 - 1999: Design and implement several HW blades

Tasks:

• Responsible to design and implement several HW blades for the 2G radio mobile Network.
• HW units were CPU / DSP blades, Line interface units, GPRS units, TDM and Ethernet switches.
• Developed the basic FW to perform the first HW test and to bring up HW prototypes. Developed SW for embedded systems.
• The used programming language was C/C++ and assembly.
• Part of the role was to select new components and to enable the mass production.
• The HW design included the development of three LSI ASICs (System on Chip) with VHDL coding.
• Great learning period where I accumulated HW and SW technical skills.
• I started being familiar with 3GPP Radio mobile networks, related standards, architecture, and protocols.
