Customer: IAIS Fraunhofer, Bonn, Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek

Tasks:

  • This project was initiated by the german government and took huge public credits. As assessed by other Fraunhofer institutes, we managed to surpass the production state of the competitors by around 5 years in a team of about 15 people.
  • In this project, I managed to correlate datasets of about 6 million entries, which, basing on the nature of the technology, quickly evolved into around 420 million entries and thus breaking common data processing limits. After providing my solution to the datacenters, we were able to ingest these datasets in record time.
  • Among other tasks, my part in this project involved:
    • Building modules for DDB Core project
    • Performance and measuring stability under high peak load in a prototype phase
    • Infrastructure planning and administration
    • Calculating, automating and optimizing dataset processing

2009 – 2011: Implemented

  • Implemented an open-access document repository to match the universities’ needs
