UI concept

THE TASK:

The Daimler AG planned to establish a public API platform by Mercedes–Benz. The mission was to support developers, startups and enterprises in creating innovative applications. I was asked by Goodmates Hamburg, the leading agency, to develop the information architecture, the UI concept and to support the whole project as strategist.

THE WORKING PROCESS:

At the very start the client defined the most important requirement: This portal should grow step by step but the first phase should be released as early as possible. So it was clear that an agile working process based on Scrum was needed – especially because up to 10 vendors are involved.

THE RESULT / STATUS QUO:

In 2017 the portal was launched in three phases. But as planned it is up to become the core of all API activities the Daimer AG initiates. With this approach the project was presented at the Web Summit 2017 in Lisbon.

GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM - AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE IN AUGMENTED REALITY

THE TASK:

  • In 2017/18 Electric Interface developed an app to show and describe products and benfits of the Google Cloud Platform. These products are very complexe and not that thrilling on the first sight.
  • So Google asked us to come up with an idea that enables customers to learn more by interacting in realistic business scenarios.

THE SOLUTION:

Electric Interface developed a live experience. Customers can modify specific 3D-models of certain processes of different industries. These models are generated in augmented reality. The set up includes stage box and a stele for 4 iPads.

THE RESULT:

This live experience is now parts of Googles general exhibition tool kit.

THE GOOGLE TRUCK CHALLENGE

THE GOOGLE TRUCK CHALLENGE - A GOOGLE MAPS APIs BASED iPAD GAME

THE TASK:

In 2016 Electric Interface developed the Google Maps Logistics Experience running on a large touch panel. Now this application should be transformed into an iPad compatible version – a 2nd chance to improve the application and elevate it to the next level.

THE SOLUTION:

Electric Interface transformed the original application into the Google Truck Challenge – a game running on two iPads providing a single and a double player mode. The user experience itself basically stayed the same: Users still have to distribute incoming delivery orders to eight available trucks in the most efficient way. The application is based on real location data from Google. Trying to make the best decision and of course maximum profit players get supported by the Google Maps APIs.

THE RESULT:

The Google Truck Challenge was presented at the Google Cloud Summit in Stockholm, Paris and Munich. It was rated as the most involving and helpful exhibit of these events.

THE GOOGLE MAPS APIs BOOTH

THE GOOGLE MAPS APIs BOOTH @ (Gladly on request)

THE TASK:

In 2017 the TechXLR8 IOT WORLD was one of the most important and best frequented conventions across Europe. The task was to to equip the 200qm Google Maps booth with a variety of digital exhibits that introduce the options of using Google Maps APIs in the internet of things.

THE IDEA:

200qm... WOW! That is huge. Enough space to guide visitors deeper and deeper into the content the deeper they get into the booth. So the idea was to arrange a couple of digital exhibits with different information densities and different approaches to a funnel path ending with a one-on-one-consultation.

THE SOLUTION:

Electric Interface equipped the booth with:

  • emotional videos outside the booth to draw visitors attention
  • interactive product summaries and showcases
  • interactive demos (e.g. the Google Maps Logistics Experience)

THE RESULT:

The Google Maps APIs booth was totally crowded on all the three days of the exhibition. At the end Google entrusted us with the complete booth management – not only technically but also managing all operational processes.

DEUTSCHE BAHN - AN INTERACTIVE FLOOR PROJECTION

THE TASK:

The Deutsche Bahn and the city of Munich started the biggest urban infrastructure project of the last decades – a new subway railway crosstown. Of course that means the citizens will suffer for a long time from traffic chaos. So to keep in touch with the people in April 2017 the Deutsche Bahn opened an information center at the Marienplatz – the heart of Munich. Designhaus Berlin, the leading agency, asked Electric Interface to develop an interactive floor projection equal to the Google Maps Experience.

THE SOLUTION:

Visitors can enter a projected map of the new railway. According to the color of the helmet they can choose a certain content mode of the map will be activated and they can discover hidden information by stepping on marked hotspots.

GOOGLE MAPS LOGISTICS EXPERIENCE

GOOGLE MAPS LOGISTICS EXPERIENCE – A TOUCH CONTROLLED APPLICATION

THE TASK:

How to make people really understand very complex things like Google Maps APIs without long and boring descriptions?

THE IDEA:

Since our childhood we all know that inspiration results in understanding. Experience - letting people try out things - is the key. That was our conviction when Electric Interface came up in 2017 with the idea to integrate Google Maps APIs into an interactive demo to show people its benefits and functionalities.

THE SOLUTION:

Electric Interface created and developed the Google Maps Logistics Experience – a touch controlled application running on a large touch panel synchronized with a 2nd screen. Users have to distribute incoming delivery orders to eight available trucks in the most efficient way. Trying to make the best decision and of course maximum profit players get supported by the Google Maps APIs. The 2nd screen displays the activities of all trucks on a map. The application is based on real location data from Google Maps APIs.

THE RESULT:

The Google Maps Logistics Experience was presented at the Google – Beyond the Road events in Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Zürich, New York, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles and at the Google head quarter in Mountain View. It became the exhibit of the whole road show.

In 2015 Sennheiser developed the best headphones of all times - the Orpheus HE 1. The web special was meant to be an extraordinary experience that underlines what excellence really means. Artificial Rome invited me to help to reach that goal.

THE IDEA:

THE SOLUTION:

The Orpheus HE 1 is definitely a cutting edge product. So the website is cutting egde, too. People from all over the world created a sound sculpture, each piece in the shape of a monolith extending a monument of sound by one‘s very own segments.

THE RESULT:

More than 1 million people from 184 countries took part.
