Alongside traditional documentation I have been working on how we can automate the documentation to reduce the amount of need for human input/error using Powershell

ICE provide copyright services to the media industry. Operations are split between Berlin, London & Stockholm. This role has been split between working managing/delivering projects and being a hands-on Infrastructure resource

• Migrated Servers (Application, File Servers and Direct Access) from an on premise datacentre to Azure. Both a mix of v2v and clean installs. Windows 2012R2 & 2016
• Exchange Online email migration for users in London from a third party. Also carried out technical analysis of current landscape and made recommendations for further integration in the future
• Setup Windows server and desktop security updates via SCCM. Also completed work to clean up distribution points, AD Sites/boundaries and general SCCM housekeeping
• Technical PM for Online Transition from an outsourced provider too in-house. Created project plans, setup daily stand up meetings, scheduled resources, working with a range of third parties. This included setup of new environments in AWS and Oracle Cloud

Novia are in the Wealth Management sector and provide a platform for Financial Advisors to trade and manage their client base. This contract provided infrastructure resource for the development team as they update their platform and move into using Cloud services as well as getting involved within design & evaluation aspects

• Implemented Azure PaaS/DaaS components (Azure SQL, App Services, Service Bus, Key Vault), Atlas Cloud (MongoDB) as well as traditional private cloud servers. Where possible this has been automated using Infrastructure as code (IAC), and delivered through VSTS (and documented via an in-house wiki

Mitie Shared Services provides IT Infrastructure to the wider group of companies containing 10,000 employees. Mitie have been going through a large technology transformation project refreshing legacy technology

• Productionised Microsoft’s DirectAccess, to replace a legacy VPN solution. This included initial configuration, testing, fault finding, documentation, rollout & handover sessions
• Implemented a new Private Key Infrastructure (PKI). This used a mixture of Windows & Amazon technology
• Used SCCM to deploy new production applications. This also included setting up new distribution points and boundaries to enable software deployment over DirectAccess
• Completed various tasks to finalise the Mitie Windows 10 build; troubleshooting SCEP/Defender /MBAM policies & Software Updates

Alamy are a stock photo library hosting over 95 million images. I worked in a project-based role on a variety of infrastructure projects. Often a brief would be given, and I would take a consultative approach; researching the best methods and technologies to suit. After presenting findings and obtaining agreement on direction, I would create detailed implementation plans and proceed with the implementation.

• Improved performance and reliability of logs ingestion into SEO provider via Powershell scripts
• Increased the ability to transfer/replicate thousands of image files quickly from one site to another
• Carried out troubleshooting of mail flow and performance issues after a migration to Exchange Online. This also included redesigning the mail flow to allow a very large and critical mailbox to be moved back to on premise (in a non hybrid configuration) and designing a new DR solution for that mailbox
• Implemented ElasticStack to collect syslog, windows security logs and IIS logs for analyses using Beats, Logstash, and Elasticsearch

• Care NZ are a charity based in New Zealand and provide services to support alcohol & drug addicts.
• I was tasked with implementing a small scale low cost SSO solution for Office365 that involved the design & implementation of ADFS 3.0 and AADConnect. This also included full build and support documentation so it could be handed over to their support team.

This contract was for initial 6 weeks but was extended on multiple occasions. I was responsible for implementing projects within the following areas

• ADFS 3.0 (Across AWS and managed service platforms)
• Custom IE11 Package (Scripted via Powershell & Delivered with SCCM/Software Centre)
• Pilot to Migrate Proxy solution from TMG to Zscaler
• Created various EC2, Elastic Beanstalks & IAM Profiles inside AWS
• Built various Windows Servers (2008 R2 & 2012 R2)
• Delivered platform for bespoke building management solution
  • The contract involved working with various third party providers, creating implementation plans, providing low level configuration documentation and providing handovers to BAU support teams. There was also some Office365 administration.
